Beware of Making Money Online Scams - How to Spot Them

We all see them and maybe fall for them; I know I did in the past.

There are a couple different kinds of online scams. First there is the out and out scam. They give you nothing or you get something to install that either is corrupt and harms your computer or just doesn't work.

Then there is the kind of scam that gives you training or some info but in order to make money you have to purchase other part(s) of the program (which they neglected to tell you up front).

The third kind of scam is the old bait and switch. They sell you something but at the end of the training, it is really something else that you didn't want.

There are a few ways to recognize a scam.

1. Go to Google and put in the name of the money-making business (.com) followed by (forward slash) scam. People who write about scammers may have something to say about that company.

2. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. If they promised you can be making money in three easy steps or 20 minutes, it's a scam. Making money online can be done, but it's work. There is no get rich quick scheme. Try the lottery instead, you have a better chance at collecting.

3. If they go on and on about how they are living the good life and you can do, it only you buy their system. Maybe they are making a lot of money but it's because people are buying their system, not because the system works.

4. Be careful if there is no clear way to get in touch with them. No support center, no email, etc.

5. If they tell you this great system is only available for a few minutes or hours, think twice.

6. The "You Can't Lose" a/or the system is "done for you." Again, Legi mate people are not going to say this.

7. The Self-Promoting Sale Funnel. They give you a system for the money you spend, all you have to do is supply traffic. Getting traffic is the hard part. You usually have a link or 2 where you can buy traffic for an additional payment, but you don't find that out til the end.

8. Automatic renewals or $1 dollar to start, and then a monthly withdrawal. Usually, the devil is in the fine print. These may not always be scams, but a lot are. The business about yearly or monthly renewals in usually in the fine print when you sign up and when you see the charges for the next renewal you often have to hunt for a phone # and get them on the line to end it. They are counting on the fact that most people don't check their credit card bills. Same for the $1 dollar to sign up, they are gambling that you might not check or go to the trouble to track them down.

9. An obvious scam is the one where you have to pay for the system before they "reveal the secret" of their system. Most people wouldn't pay for something without any idea of what they are getting, but somebody must be, or these scams wouldn't still be out there.

There are certainly more scams out there than the ones I have listed, but these are the most popular. As always, the old adage "Buyer "beware" applies.
